Brighton firm wins IEDA award for mobile app

BRIGHTON — The Iowa Economic Development Authority Board recently approved awards to five Iowa startups from Iowa’s State Small Business and Credit Initiative Innovation Fund. And one of the companies is headquartered in the rural Washington County community of Brighton!

Agenda. Period Inc. has developed a mobile app to better understand and navigate a woman’s menstrual cycle. The platform tracks cycles and symptoms and provides resources to support hormonal health and overall well-being. The Brighton-based company received a $175,000 demonstration fund loan for product development and refinement, market planning and go-to-market activities, and key staff.

The SSBCI Innovation Fund expands the support available through the Iowa Innovation Continuum to support entrepreneurs in the concept, launch, and expansion phases. Recommendations for these funds are submitted by the SSBCI Review Committee to the IEDA Director for approval.
