Singaporean firms’ optimism about business prospects hits two-year high in Q2: BT-SUSS survey

Singapore businesses’ optimism about the next six months reached a two-year high in the second quarter of 2024, boosted by an improving business environment, a quarterly survey showed.

According to the latest data, the net balance of business prospects rose to 8 percent in the second quarter, up 5 percentage points from the previous quarter. Business Times-Singapore University of Social Sciences (BT-SUSS) Business Climate Survey.

The net balance is the difference between the share of companies that saw an increase and the share of companies that saw a decrease compared to the same period of the previous year, with a positive net balance suggesting expansion.
