Farnborough and Aldershot to receive defibrillators and blood collection kits

A range of new devices are to be installed across Hampshire which will save lives in emergency medical situations.

Up to six public defibrillators will be purchased in parts of Farnborough and Aldershot to be used in the event of a cardiac arrest.

Around £10,000 will be spent on devices to be installed in areas where network coverage is insufficient.

Rushmoor Borough Council also said it would work with local pubs to help with funding. venting kits in areas where anti-social behaviour has been frequently reported.

The kits contain bandages and pressure bandages. They can be used to provide first aid to people with life-threatening injuries, such as stabs.

According to the municipal council, there are currently approximately 140 defibrillators operating in the commune.

They can be used in addition to resuscitation or CPR to give the greatest chance of survival and are designed for use by anyonewithout the need for training.

To access them, you usually need to call 999.

Rushmoor Borough Council said it would support work to co-ordinate daily checks of new defibrillators and would organise training sessions to raise awareness.

It was added that ongoing costs will have to be covered by social organizations.
