Tisbury is one of the locations in Wiltshire that has been added to the app

New places and trails have been added to the county council’s free tourism app.

Explore Wiltshire is home to heritage information, walks, events and places. We’ve now added audio, photos and videos from Melksham, Tisbury and Wilton.

The application was the first Launched in 2023 covering several towns in Wiltshire, narrated by archaeologist Phil Harding, known from Channel 4’s Time Team.

Wiltshire County Council said it was a good way to encourage people to explore the county and support the local economy.

Bradford-on-Avon, Chippenham, Cricklade, Devizes, Marlborough, Malmesbury, Pewsey, Salisbury, Trowbridge and Warminster are already on Explore Wiltshire.

Also part of the update is the addition of a treasure hunt based on Longleat Safari Park in Warminster.

Councillor Richard Clewer, Leader of Wiltshire Council and Cabinet Member for Heritage, Arts and Tourism, said: “Vibrant, well-connected communities are a key priority for us and the app is a great way for people to support the local economy by visiting local amenities along the trail.”
