Linklaters advises India’s Bharti on $4bn stake in BT Group

Linklaters is advising Bharti Global, the investment arm of Indian conglomerate Bharti Enterprises, on its $4 billion acquisition of a 24.5% stake in British telecommunications company BT Group from French tycoon Patrick Drahi.

Bharti is buying Bharti Televentures UK through an acquirer from Altice, the troubled telecoms and cable group Drahi. Herbert Smith Freehills, which led the original acquisition of Altice in 2021, advised Altice.
