Teri Hatcher, 59, reveals she has given up on dating after being kicked off the dating app Hinge as she arrives at the radio studios in a white outfit

Teri Hatcher has revealed she gave up on dating after being dropped from dating app Hinge.

The 59-year-old Desperate Housewives star revealed all to Angela Scanlon, who is filling in for regular host Chris Evans on his Virgin Radio show.

Teri looked angelic when she arrived in a white, embroidered English-style long dress and white heels.

While talking about the 15th anniversary of the film’s release, Coraline opened up about her dating failures.

She said: “I think it was really about telling the universe, ‘I’m open to dating.’ Everyone talks about, ‘You have to gesture to the universe to make something happen for you.’”

“And that’s what happened to me; I’ll go on a dating app and it’s like, ‘I’m open to dating, I’m interested, right?’ Although I don’t think I ever really thought that that would be a direction that would work for me. But I also didn’t think that one day I’d open up an app on my phone and be blocked!”

The star explained that she believes her account was banned so quickly because no one believed it was really her.

She said: “I think what happened when I was on the app was people were like, ‘That can’t be Teri Hatcher. What is she doing on that app?’

‘Or they’d say, ‘Hey, do you want to go out with me?’ And then when I didn’t want to, I think maybe they got mad that I didn’t respond. And I think collectively those people must have alerted Hinge that someone was impersonating me.’

“But that whole era is over now. I’m still not dating, but I’m also off of apps!”

The star previously told This Morning hosts Rylan Clark and Josie Gibson that Matthew Perry texted her about the disaster of her relationship before his tragic death.

Teri, looking summery in a long white dress with ruffles and embroidered flowers, spoke about her relationship problems and the support she received from a friend.

During an interview on the radio show, the Desperate Housewives star explained that she wanted to try to get back into the dating world, but found it difficult

She said: “When you get kicked out, it’s not like you get an email, you just get blocked. And the only recourse I had was to go on Twitter and ask Hinge through that. So they called me back and got me back.”

Teri said Matthew also texted her to share his experience using the dating app.

She said: “He and I kept in touch periodically after I started working with him on The Odd Couple years ago. And it was really fun.

“We checked in with each other once or twice a year. We had a text relationship, so when I tweeted him, he immediately replied, ‘I got kicked off Hinge too, what are we both doing on Hinge?’

Matthew tragically died in November at the age of 54 from a ketamine overdose.

Teri has been married twice before: to Marcus Leithold from 1988 to 1989 and to Jon Tenney from 1994 to 2003.
