‘Supacell’ Renewed for Season 2 by Netflix

Supacell has been renewed for a second season on Netflix.

Set in contemporary South London, Rapman’s debut television series follows a group of five ordinary black people united by a family history of sickle cell disease who unexpectedly develop superpowers and are hunted by a secret organisation intent on controlling them.

The series has been a hit for Netflix, one of the biggest to come out of the UK in some time, and has dominated the top ten charts around the world for the past few weeks. It is still in many global top tens weeks after its release. Netflix has just announced the renewal on X.

Supacell is created by Blue story directed by Sebastian Thiel and directed by Rapman. Starring Tosin Cole, Jessica Magaye, Ricardo McCleary-Campbell, Saraphina Mattis, Melissa Simon-Hartman, Cleo Young and Micheal Ademilua, who create Supacell Six.

Mark Hedges is Supacell series producer and Sheila Nortley is a Block2 producer and associate producer. Geraldine Hawkins is a co-producer. Rapman is an executive producer with Anna Ferguson and Steve Searle for Netflix. New Wave’s Mouktar Mohammed is also an executive producer; his colleague Henrietta Lee is an associate producer.
