Gensol Engineering and Matrix Gas Consortium Wins Tender for Production of 237 MW Hydrogen Electrolyzer, ET EnergyWorld

Mumbai: Renewable energy EPC firm Gensol Engineering, in collaboration with green hydrogen infrastructure developer Matrix Gas & Renewables, on Wednesday announced that it has been selected as the successful bidder for an annual production capacity of 237 MW under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for setting up an electrolyser manufacturing plant.

The offer was obtained through a tender organised by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).

According to an official press release, the Gensol-Matrix consortium has secured a total capacity of 300 MW, including the earlier 63 MW awarded in the first tranche of the SECI tender, representing a total incentive of Rs 450 crore under the PLI scheme.

He added that the project will play a key role in helping India achieve its target of producing 5 million metric tonnes of green hydrogen per year by 2030.

“The electrolyzer initiative is a key part of our broad-based decarbonisation strategy through green hydrogen… low-carbon energy,” said Chirag Kotecha, Senior Director at Matrix Gas and Renewables.

The release added that Gensol and Matrix are promoted by joint entities and that they will continue their cooperation in green hydrogen and its derivatives, including green steel and green ammonia, leveraging the competences of each entity.
