Xiaomi has started rolling out the next major update for its smartphones, according to a report. The update is called HyperOS 1.5 and is expected to include the August security patch, new features, performance improvements, and bug fixes. The first batch of smartphones to receive the update include the China-exclusive Xiaomi 14 series, the Redmi K70 series, and other phones. Xiaomi says it will roll out to other regions in due course.

HyperOS 1.5 Update Features

In the post, XiaomiTime announced the rollout of the HyperOS 1.5 update. It is said to bring a new personalization option specifically for the lock screen on Xiaomi smartphones. After the update, users can reportedly tap the “Long press lock screen to edit style” option to edit and personalize the lock screen.

It also brings improvements to the fluidity of the system to improve the responsiveness of the apps. The HyperOS 1.5 update is also expected to include more optimizations to the smartphone experience to ensure better day-to-day interaction with devices.

According to the report, the HyperOS 1.5 update has already started rolling out in China. The Xiaomi 14 series, Redmi K70 series, and Redmi K60 Extreme Edition are the first smartphones to receive it in China. It will be followed by the China-exclusive Xiaomi 13 series, Xiaomi Mix Fold 3, and Redmi Turbo 3. It is expected to roll out to the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro and Redmi K60 series in September.

Globally, the HyperOS 1.5 update will roll out to a number of Xiaomi smartphones, including those from its Redmi and Poco sub-brands. The list of devices includes:
