Hinduja Global Solutions Q1 profit rises to Rs 161.5 cr: Rediff Moneynews

Hinduja Global Solutions (HGS) reported a multiple rise in Q1 net profit at Rs 161.5 crore, led by the sale of its healthcare business. Revenue fell 3.6% to Rs 1,091.92 crore.

New Delhi, Aug 14 (PTI) Business process management company Hinduja Global Solutions reported a multi-fold rise in consolidated profit to Rs 161.5 crore in the first quarter ended June 30, mainly on the back of gains from sale of its healthcare business during the period.

A year ago, the company had posted a profit of Rs 16.64 crore.

Excluding the one-time gain from the sale of the healthcare business, HGS posted a loss of Rs 57 million in the reported quarter from continuing operations.

Hinduja Global Solutions’ (HGS) revenue from operations declined 3.6 per cent to Rs 1,091.92 crore for the quarter ended June 2024 from Rs 1,133.49 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.

“Profitability in the quarter was adversely affected by certain one-time costs. We expect our profitability to improve from the second quarter of fiscal year 2025.

“During the quarter ending June 2025, we received an additional payment on account of sale of healthcare business, resulting in a net gain of Rs 218.5 crore shown under profit from discontinued operations,” HGS Whole-Time Director and Group CEO Partha DeSarkar said in a statement.
