Federal judge dismisses challenge to MN deer farm regulations | The Mighty 790 KFGO

MINNEAPOLIS, MIN. – A federal judge dismisses a challenge to laws regulating Minnesota’s deer farms.

State lawmakers approved several measures last year that tightened industry regulation to prevent the spread of chronic wasting disease.

The Minnesota Deer Farmers Association filed suit and asked for an injunction to keep the laws from going into effect.

A US District Court judge dismissed the request yesterday, saying the state was not deliberately working to damage the deer farming industry. Lawyers for the deer farmers say they will appeal the judge’s decision.
