iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 beta 7 are now rolling out to developers, along with a new macOS Sequoia beta

Apple announced iOS 18 at its WWDC developer conference on June 10, releasing the first beta of the update to developers right after the keynote. It’s been a few months since the beta release, and Apple is today releasing the seventh beta of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 to developers.

This update includes bug fixes and improvements to an early version of iOS 18, making it more stable to run on devices. It’s currently unclear if any new features have been added, but it seems unlikely. Most of the iOS 18 features are currently available in beta (apart from Apple Intelligence, which is in the iOS 18.1 beta). Since we’re so close to the final release, it seems unlikely that any new features will appear.

iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 beta 7 are available for download over the air for developers enrolled in the program. We do not recommend installing the software on your primary device, as it is still unstable. A new, seventh beta for macOS Sequoia is also being rolled out to developers, alongside new betas of visionOS 2, watchOS 11, and tvOS 18. We will likely see another developer beta in another two weeks, which is likely the last one before the Release Candidate.

What’s new in iOS 18?

One of the biggest software updates we’ve ever seen, iOS 18 brings incredible new features and more customization options to iPhone than ever before. Later this summer, the iOS 18 beta will add Apple Intelligence, one of the most impressive software additions to Apple devices we’ve ever seen.

Apple Intelligence is adding new AI-powered features to top-of-the-line iPhones and other Apple products, letting you summarize, transcribe, and proofread anything you write on your device. As mentioned, it’s available to try out in the iOS 18.1 beta, which you’ll need to switch to. While the beta is fairly limited, more features will be added by the time Apple Intelligence launches later this year.

In addition to Apple Intelligence, there’s a redesigned Photos app, more options to personalize your home screen (go away, grid!), and icons can be dimmed. RCS Messenger is also coming. The iPhone update will be released in September with the iPhone 16 series.
