Many DeFi Protocols ‘Blatantly Disregard’ Regulations: Gavin Wood | Video

We’re going to see a tightening regulatory environment around blockchains and blockchain-hosted services, and decentralization, in name only, is not going to last forever. I think it’s a fluid situation. I don’t think I can say for sure that decentralization is not going to magically disappear as a requirement, you know, in 10 years because of political changes in the world. But I think from what I see right now, it’s not going to disappear. It’s just going to tighten and a lot of protocols are going to blatantly, uh, disregard regulatory requirements uh uh in a lot of parts of the world, and the people behind them are probably going to start knocking on their doors if they’re not, if they’re not careful to make sure that they’re 100% out of the loop. The regulators aren’t stupid, they’re going to get smarter and they’re going to start going after the people who are controlling the network that’s doing things that they don’t want them to do.
