TPH Entertainment Taraji P. Henson Adds Jamila Jordan-Theus

Taraji P. Henson’s TPH Entertainment has hired Emmy Award-winning producer Jamila Jordan-Theus as head of development and production.

In her new role, Jordan-Theus will oversee scripted series, feature films and unscripted content for TPH Entertainment. Henson, a Golden Globe-winning actor and Emmy, Oscar and SAG nominee, founded the brand in 2020.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jamila Jordan-Theus to TPH Entertainment,” Henson said in a statement announcing the new hire. “Her vision, creativity and passion for storytelling align perfectly with our mission to bring bold, authentic and diverse voices to the forefront. Together, we are excited to push boundaries and create high-impact content that will resonate with audiences around the world.”

Jordan-Theus added, “Taraji P. Henson is a prolific force and icon in this industry. I am thrilled to be working with her at TPH Entertainment as we continue to build with dynamic visionaries, storytellers and artists. We are committed to celebrating cultural depth and challenging societal norms by producing thoughtful, liberating and compelling content.”

As part of its overall deal with BET Studios, TPH Entertainment is developing various projects, including “Moorewood Family Rules,” a series adaptation of the novel by HelenKay Dimon. Diversity exclusively announced news of the project earlier this month, with Henson set to star and executive produce, and Justin Simien on board to direct. TPH Entertainment is producing in association with Hartbeat and Culture Machine.

Jordan-Theus joins TPH Entertainment after most recently serving as Head of Film at Marsai Martin’s Genius Entertainment, where she led development on feature films including “Fantasy Football” for Paramount+. Prior to that, she served as Chief Creative Officer at The SpringHill Company and Director of Unscripted Development at Sirens Media/ITV Studios. Her credits include the Emmy Award-winning talk show “Turning The Tables with Robin Roberts,” YouTube Originals’ “Best Shot,” Netflix’s “7 Days Out,” Paramount’s “Ink Master,” and CNN’s “Dreamland: The Rise and Fall of Black Wall Street.” She also co-produced the social impact YouTube live series “Bear Witness, Take Action.”
