Google Opens AI Academy for Startups

Google has introduced a new training program aimed at equipping startups with advanced artificial intelligence skills.

Developed by Google’s People + AI research team, the curriculum provides a comprehensive approach to integrating AI into business strategies.

To encourage startups to participate, Google is offering them cloud credits worth up to $350,000 as well as access to a wide range of AI tools.

Google will also offer mentoring services to help startups increase sales and expand their networks.

Several US startups have already taken advantage of the program. JustAir, for example, is using AI to monitor air pollution, while Cambio is using the technology to decarbonize commercial real estate.

The program will be implemented mainly online, enabling startups from anywhere in the world to participate.

Google is working with other industry leaders to drive global AI adoption. It recently partnered with Banco Santander to offer free AI training in Spain and Latin America.

Going forward, Google will be particularly interested in investing in startups that address issues such as disaster prevention, environmental sustainability, advanced manufacturing, public safety, water stewardship, workforce development, and economic opportunity.
