US prepares to lift all restrictions on use of its weapons — Russian ambassador – Russian Politics and Diplomacy

WASHINGTON, Aug. 23. /TASS/. The United States is preparing to lift all restrictions on the use of U.S.-supplied weapons by Ukrainian troops, Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov told reporters.

In his opinion, the US government reiterates that “it is forbidden to use long-range systems to attack Russian territory.”

“But in reality, they are preparing the ground for lifting all existing restrictions at some point without much thought,” the diplomat said.

In his opinion, the US policy of providing military aid to Ukraine, including training Ukrainian pilots in operating American F-16 fighters, shows that “they will fight.”

“They will use American weapons against us. But where? We can’t say and we can’t predict,” he said.

The ambassador added that dialogue with the American side is difficult due to Washington’s unpredictability and lack of trust in its policies.

“There is no guarantee that the whole world will remain the same when we wake up tomorrow. It is very, very difficult to predict how Americans will behave in this or that situation,” he said. “We must act in a coherent and decisive manner, simply by increasing our defense capabilities, because only the army and the navy can defend our country.”
