CPUC approves offshore wind acquisitions – Times-Standard

The CPUC voted to allow the state Department of Water Resources to acquire 10.6 gigawatts of renewable energy by 2037, 7.6 of which must come from offshore wind. California’s renewable energy goals — 25 gigawatts of renewable energy by 2045, enough to achieve net-zero carbon dioxide emissions — almost certainly cannot be met without offshore wind development, including the farm planned off the coast of Humboldt County.
