Max Verstappen, who is on an inglorious run of four races without a win, will be hoping the familiar surroundings of Zandvoort can prove to be an advantage as the drivers line up for tonight’s Dutch GP.

Verstappen has won the last three Dutch Grands Prix but his recent drought has allowed McLaren to move ahead of Red Bull in the Constructors’ Championship.

Last weekend at the Belgian GP, Lewis Hamilton took the winners’ podium after team-mate George Russell was disqualified after the race for an underweight car. Verstappen’s fourth place in the final race means he goes into Sunday’s race with a 78-point lead over McLaren’s Lando Norris in the Drivers’ Championship with 10 races remaining.

The main race, which will take place on Sunday, August 25 at 14:55 Central European Time (CET), 13:55 British Standard Time (BST) in the UK, 08:55 Eastern Time (ET)/05:55 Pacific Time (PT) in the US and Canada and 22:55 Australian Standard Time (AEST) in Australia, will take place at Circuit Zandvoort in the Netherlands. The race will be broadcast in the US on ESPN & ESPN+ Home

The entire race weekend, including practice sessions and qualifying, will be broadcast in the U.S. on ESPN’s television and streaming networks. Those looking to follow it all will need access to the ABC and ESPN news channels on cable or live streaming services, or the ESPN Plus streaming service. We’ve outlined everything you need to know to stream tonight’s race and all the other F1 races this season.

Live coverage of the Dutch Grand Prix in the USA

Whether you have cable or not, ESPN’s standalone streaming service is great for casual Formula 1 fans and a must-have for fanatics. It costs $11 per month (or $110 per year), and ESPN currently has a deal with F1 to show 18 of the 23 Grand Prix this year. The catch is that ESPN Plus doesn’t always air practice or qualifying sessions, but it does usually air sprint races and the Sprint Shootout.

If you’re an F1 fan who also wants to get their dose of Disney, the Disney trio bundle (Hulu, Disney Plus, and ESPN Plus) may be an even better buy. It’s a great option for fans who love watching the parts of the race weekend that usually air on EPSN2 or ESPNews, and who need the latest Marvel movies or Star Wars shows.

If you’re a die-hard fan of motorsports and Formula 1 racing, ESPN Plus may not be for you, given that it rarely covers F2, F3 or Porsche Supercar races. As such, ESPN Plus is ideal for casual fans who like to watch a race every now and then, or for superfans who don’t want or need all the extra bells and whistles of F1 TV but want to beef up their coverage options.

How to watch Formula 1 online from anywhere with a VPN

If you can’t watch the Formula 1 action locally, you may need another way to watch the games – that’s where a VPN comes in. A VPN is also the best way to stop your ISP from throttling your speeds on match day by encrypting your traffic, and it’s also a great idea if you’re travelling and connected to Wi-Fi and want to add an extra layer of privacy to your devices and logins.

With a VPN, you can virtually change your location on your phone, tablet, or laptop to access the game. Most VPNs, like our Editors’ Choice, ExpressVPN, make this really easy.

Using a VPN to watch or stream sports is legal in any country where VPNs are legal, including the US, UK, and Canada, as long as you have a legal subscription to the service you’re streaming. Make sure your VPN is set up correctly to prevent leaks: Even if VPNs are legal, the streaming service can still terminate the account of anyone it believes circumvents properly applied blackout restrictions.

ExpressVPN is our current top VPN pick for people who want a reliable, secure VPN that works on multiple devices. It normally costs $13 per month, but if you sign up for a $100 annual subscription, you get three months free and save 49%. That’s $6.67 per month with code SPECIAL OFFERwhich should be applied automatically.

Please note that ExpressVPN offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Quick Tips for Streaming the Bundesliga with a VPN

  • There are four variables that affect the quality and performance of your Bundesliga match broadcast – your ISP, your browser, your video streaming provider and your VPN.
  • If you don’t see your desired location as a default ExpressVPN option, try using the “search for a city or country” option.
  • If you’re having trouble accessing the game after enabling your VPN and setting it to the correct viewing area, there are two things you can try to quickly fix it. First, log into your streaming service subscription account and make sure the address registered to your account is in the correct viewing area. If not, you may need to change the physical address registered to your account. Second, some smart TVs — like Roku — don’t have VPN apps that you can install directly on the device itself. Instead, you’ll need to install your VPN on the router or mobile hotspot you’re using (like your phone) so that any device on its Wi-Fi network will now be displayed in the correct viewing area.
  • All of our recommended VPN providers have helpful instructions on their home page for quickly installing a VPN on your router. In some cases, when you install the cable sports network app, you’ll be asked to verify a numeric code or click a link sent to your email address on file for your smart TV. This is where having a VPN on your router will also help, as both devices will appear to be in the correct location.
  • Keep in mind that browsers can often give away your location even if they use a VPN, so make sure you use a browser that puts privacy first to log in to its services. We usually recommend Bold.
