Pierce Brosnan’s Last Shooter Sets Release Date

EXCLUSIVE:Samuel Goldwyn Films has acquired North American rights to the film The Last Riflemana drama about World War II veterans starring Pierce Brosnan (The Great Hall of Lillian).

The film, written by Kevin Fitzpatrick and directed by Terry Loane, hits theaters on November 8. Other titles scheduled for release include the Focus Features Award Conclave from Edward Berger, a Lionsgate family comedy The best Christmas show of all timeScience-fiction thriller from Vertical studio Lift starring Anthony Mackie and Morena Baccarin and Sony/Crunchyroll Overlord: Holy Kingdom.

Inspired by a true story, The Last Rifleman centers on Art Crawford (Brosnan), a World War II veteran living in a nursing home in Northern Ireland who has just lost his wife. On the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings, he decides to escape from the nursing home and travels to France to pay his last respects to her.

Pica’s team also includes Clémence Poésy (The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon), John Amos (Time for me), Ian McElhinney (Boys in a boat) and Desmond Eastwood (Normal people). Katy Jackson and John Leslie produced for the Wee Buns (Zoo), with Jacqueline Kerrin and Dominic Wright of Ripple World Pictures (Never get old) co-producer. Oscar nominee Mark Huffam (Martian), Kevin Jackson (Zoo), Nick Leese, Eloise Singer (Rare beasts) and Tommy Curran served as executive producers.
