Apple Sports is ready for all types of football

The Apple Sports app is gearing up for football season with an update that brings live scores and info for NFL and college football to your iPhone’s lock screen. With support for Live Activities “for all teams and leagues available in the app for the first time” in iOS 18 and watchOS 11, you can now track your team’s performance from the lock screen on your iPhone or Apple Watch.

In addition to North American soccer, Apple Sports will add the UEFA Champions League and Europa League next month.

Fans of American football, both professional and college, can now take advantage of an app that introduces a new “dynamic tracker” that shows the current position of the ball on the field.

Later this year, Apple plans to introduce a new drop-down menu that will make it easier to switch between the main results views. It is also working on an improved search function that will help you find matches in leagues you don’t follow.
