Consumer Reports releases September shopping list

As summer winds down, August is packed with big-saving events like back-to-school and Labor Day sales. Consumer Reports reveals the best deals on some of the best-rated products.

The long summer days are getting shorter, but this time of year also brings some good news: end-of-season sales and other late summer sales.

Here are some of the most popular discounted products to keep an eye out for this month when it’s time to stock up.

This August, sales will be all about back-to-school shopping, so whether you’re looking for tech gadgets for your kids or stuff for their dorms, similar items will be on sale all month long.

A new laptop is a great way to start the new school year. The Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3i is just $449.99 at Staples. CR says this 15.6-inch display has a touchscreen and a solid battery life that can last more than a full workday.

If you prefer something a little more elegant, opt for a tablet. The Apple iPad is just $299.99 on Amazon. It’s a 2022 model that passed CR’s tests for performance, photos, and video.

With mesh WiFi, you can make sure that homework and other tasks are done efficiently throughout your home. The TP-Link Deco WholeHome (3-pack) is just $129.99 on Amazon.

College students can save some money by making coffee in their dorms. A coffee maker from Mr. Coffee is $49.95 at Walmart.

And don’t forget about Labor Day early next month, the sales start soon. These discounts usually start in mid-August, when you’ll see big savings on mattresses, large appliances, and seasonal items like grills.

The Blackstone flat grill is just $249.99 on Amazon. CR claims that the 28-inch flat grill maintains seven temperatures across its entire surface, at both low and high temperatures.

A great grilled dish that is perfect for the end of summer.

Looking for something different? CR says you can also expect discounts on dehumidifiers, freezers, microwaves, printers, steam irons and vacuum cleaners this month.
