Israeli startups raise $200 million in August

Israeli startups raised just $200 million in August 2024, according to reports and press releases seen by Globes. The amount could be higher, as some companies prefer to remain under the radar and sometimes do not publicize the investments they receive. The low amount in August reverses a recent trend of higher amounts raised by private tech companies in Israel.

Israeli startups have already raised $5.4 billion in the first eight months of 2024. Israeli private tech companies raised $4.5 billion in the first half of 2024, according to data from IVC-LeumiTech, indicating a rebound from 2023, when it raised $6.9 billion for the full year, after raising $15 billion in 2022 and a record $25.6 billion in 2021.

In August 2024, the largest funding rounds were closed by artificial intelligence market research firm Placer.ai, which raised $75 million, and onchain risk management firm Chaos Labs raised $55 million.
