UW and Wyoming SBDC Network to Host Company Culture Workshop in Powell on Sept. 9

Small business owners will have the opportunity to learn how to best create a thriving company culture on Monday, September 9.

Devan Costa-Cargill will lead a Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) networking workshop titled “Get Out of the Trenches, Climb a Tree: Company Culture” from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Powell Regional Office at 227 N. Bent St. To register, go here . Registration is free. This is the first in a series of four work sessions.

The Wyoming SBDC Network offers business expertise to help Wyoming residents think about, start, grow, renew or close a business. The Wyoming SBDC Network is operated by the University of Wyoming with state funds from the Wyoming Business Council and is funded, in part, through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

During the workshops, small business owners will learn how to create a positive, motivating work environment, implement communication procedures and learn the differences between management and leadership.

Costa-Cargill is the Regional Director of the Wyoming SBDC Network for Big Horn, Hot Springs, Park, and Washakie counties. She began her career as a consultant in the public school system, specifically in special education. For the past 10 years, Costa-Cargill has run her own small business providing consulting and enrichment to families and early childhood educators. Her work with the Wyoming SBDC Network began in April 2021, mentoring small start-up businesses on the first important steps of their journey.
