Do it Best, a cooperative that buys hardware, lumber and building materials, has added wood products to its e-commerce platform.

The company said the initiative opens new sales channels for members and streamlines the purchasing process for existing customers.

“Our data showed that lumber was one of the most searched terms on our site, indicating a clear demand,” said Brianna Wells, Divisional Manager of eCommerce, Marketing & Merchandising at Do It Best, in an Aug. 12 press release. “Many of our members sell lumber, and we saw an opportunity to increase their sales by serving consumers who prefer to pre-purchase online before visiting a store.”

Fort Wayne, Indiana-based Do it Best will monitor direct online sales and overall website traffic to measure the effectiveness of online lumber sales through its e-commerce platform.

“We are committed to working with our members to expand the variety of lumber products available for purchase online,” Wells added. “Our goal is to help our members remain competitive in a dynamic marketplace, and by continually improving our online offerings, we can equip them with the necessary tools to succeed.”

Do it Best operates member-owned venues throughout the United States and more than 50 countries, with annual sales of approximately $5 billion.
