Mother reveals panic she and son sent during Georgia school shooting

Text messages exchanged between a terrified son and his mother reveal moments of panic as shots were fired at a Georgia high school.

The Apalachee High School shooting left four people dead and nine others injured. The shooting suspect, Colt Gray, 14, is in custody.

Mom Erin Clark shared screenshots of a conversation between her and her son Ethan, who was at Apalachee High School when shots rang out around 10:30 a.m., with our sister station WSB-TV in Atlanta.

“School shooting… I’m scared… Please… I’m not joking,” Ethan wrote to his mother.

Clark told her son she was leaving work and he responded, “I love you.”

Clark told WSB the shooting was “her worst nightmare.”
