WILLIAMSPORT — For the seventh consecutive year, UPMC will sponsor the Performance Series in the new season at the Community Arts Center. As a longtime supporter of the cultural venue in downtown Williamsport, UPMC has played an integral role in bringing arts and entertainment to the region.

“The CAC plays a large role in supporting the region’s vibrant arts community,” said Kari Kurtz, director of community relations, UPMC North Central Pa. “The venue is part of our history in Williamsport and gives our community members the opportunity to experience big-city performance without having to travel. We are grateful for the opportunity to celebrate and support Williamsport as not only a destination, but a special place for individuals and families to call home.”

Jim Dougherty, CAC Executive Director, added, “UPMC’s generous support has been invaluable in recent years in helping the Community Arts Center grow and thrive. We are incredibly grateful for their continued partnership and investment in community initiatives throughout north central Pennsylvania.”

As part of the 2024-2025 Performance Series sponsorship benefits, UPMC will receive recognition in news and marketing across multiple media platforms, as well as access to special facilities and events.

In addition to being a Performance Series sponsor since the 2018-19 season, the health system’s long-standing partnership with CAC programs began in 1998. That support has included the arts center’s annual campaign and endowment; a role as corporate show sponsor and director’s chairman; and assistance through the Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program.

“We are so grateful for UPMC’s continued support and dedication to CAC programming,” said Ana Gonzalez-White, university relations officer for CAC development. “Their long-term commitment is greatly appreciated.”

Programs kicking off the 2024-25 season include: “Get the Led Out,” a celebration of the music of Led Zeppelin, on Aug. 29; country musician Josh Turner, Sept. 27; “Floyd Nation,” a tribute to Pink Floyd, Oct. 5; Blues Traveler, Oct. 19; Celtic Thunder, Oct. 30; country singer Gary Allan, Nov. 15; Dokken and Winger, Nov. 23; and comedian Brian Regan, Nov. 24.

Event information and tickets can be found at www.caclive.com.

The CAC celebrated its 30th anniversary last year. The arts and entertainment venue opened in May 1993 after a major renovation of the former Capitol Theatre, a movie theater and vaudeville theater that originally opened in October 1928.
