Aqara offers a wide range of smart home products, from smart locks and sensors to smart lighting and smart curtains. The brand is now ready to expand its catalog even further by revealing several new smart home gadgets at IFA 2024. A common thread throughout the presentation was support for Matter — making it easier for buyers to integrate devices with the rest of their home.

The Camera Hub G5 Pro is a standout product, as it’s Aqara’s first security camera designed for outdoor use. Its 4MP camera captures color night vision and uses built-in AI to identify people, pets, vehicles, and packages, allowing for more accurate notifications when motion is detected. And since it’s officially designed for outdoor use, you shouldn’t have any trouble finding a good spot for it on your property.

Aqara also revealed the Garage Door Controller T2 Kit, which offers support for two sectional garage doors and full compatibility with Matter. The market for smart garage controllers is quite limited, making this a welcome introduction at IFA.

Other smart home devices showcased include the Aqara Valve Controller T1, which detects leaks and automatically shuts off water or gas supplies, the Aqara Smoke Detector with a 10-year battery life, and a variety of smart wall switches and light bulbs.

As for Matter, the Hub M3 gets something known as Advanced Matter Bridging. This feature lets users sync their “IF” and “THEN” conditions in the Aqara Home app with other supported Matter apps. This gives access to more robust procedures and ensures that all devices in your home network work well with the Aqara line of products.
