Maine CDC launches mobile app for vaccination records

AUGUSTA — The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Maine CDC) has partnered with a new, free mobile app, Docket, to provide Maine residents with easy, fast, and secure access to their immunization records via smartphones and other mobile devices. After verifying a person’s identity through the Docket app, Docket searches Maine’s Immunization Information System (IIS) using basic demographic information (name, date of birth, and gender) to display the immunization records on the mobile device for that person.

“Docket can be used to share vaccination records with healthcare providers, for school or childcare registration, or as a reminder for Maine residents to get their vaccinations,” said Maine CDC Director Dr. Putheiry Va. “With schools back in session, the weather cooling, and respiratory virus season approaching, this new app makes it easier and faster for Maine residents to access their up-to-date vaccination records right when they need them.”

In recent years, Maine CDC has seen an increasing demand for access to immunization records, which were previously processed by mail. This year, Maine CDC has received more than 3,000 requests for immunization records, and nearly 10,000 requests have been submitted between 2020 and 2023. By comparison, in 2019, Maine CDC received 111 requests for immunization records.

You must be 18 years or older to use the Docket app. Parents and guardians will be able to access immunization records on behalf of minors they are caring for. The app is free and available for download in the Apple and Android app stores. Those without access to a smartphone or mobile device can use the Docket website to verify their identity and access immunization records. Paper copies of immunization records can still be obtained from your healthcare provider’s office.
