Keysight Technologies’ Advanced 14-Bit General Purpose Oscilloscope

What you will learn:

  • Keysight’s new 14-bit ADC oscilloscope delivers four times the signal resolution and half the noise of older general-purpose oscilloscopes.
  • How a custom ASIC and deep memory architecture enable fast, accurate measurements.
  • How it provides the precision and accuracy needed to identify the smallest and rarest signal disruptions when debugging your design.

Today’s highly integrated and interconnected electronics ecosystem challenges engineers to provide fast, precise measurements to solve a variety of applications. Device and component designs are becoming increasingly complex, and signals are becoming smaller.

With this need in mind, Keysight Technologies introduced the InfiniiVision HD3 series, a 14-bit ADC oscilloscope that can provide up to 4x the signal resolution at half the noise of older general-purpose oscilloscopes. Designed and built from the ground up with a custom ASIC and deep memory architecture, the HD3 series can quickly detect and highlight signal problems in a variety of applications.

To ensure product quality and maximize product performance, engineers need to troubleshoot circuits in as much detail as possible by tracking multiple signals simultaneously to highlight the smallest signal errors, revealing any design flaws and hardware defects. The InfiniiVision HD3 series can measure the smallest and rarest signal faults beyond noise to correct product problems. It does this by offering highest vertical resolution thanks to 14-bit ADC and low noise floor of 50 µV RMS, which allows to detect the smallest signal anomalies.

Covering bands from 200 MHz to 1 GHz, the HD3 series accelerates digital debugging and time to market with its high precision. It features A 1.3 M/s waveform refresh rate for all measurements enables fast and accurate debugging.

The InfiniiVision series also features a specially designed ASIC that enables higher sampling rates and memory under typical test conditions, while offering high vertical resolution and hardware features such as mask, zone, and serial decoding.

Deep memory records longer time intervals at full sampling rate, allowing for better measurement and analysis results. The new interface offers comprehensive functionality, including full ADC and vertical resolution on each channel, multiple bandwidth limiting options, HD mode support, and custom measurement thresholds.

The InfiniiVision HD3 Series also provides full test automation with automated bug-finding software for general debugging to analyze faults, dead edges, and errors with a wide selection of serial bus protocols and application software. Instant software upgrades provide immediate bandwidth, memory, and feature upgrades, allowing designers to purchase the options they need now and upgrade in the future without having to return the instrument to the factory.
