China-Africa cooperation improves Africa’s industrialization

In a recent interview with #ChinaPerspectives, Ye Hailin, dean of the China-Africa Institute at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, said that the Chinese often say, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” Therefore, the fundamental goal of promoting industrial cooperation in Africa is to help Africa industrialize on its own.

The goal is to resolve the long-standing imbalance between the industrial and agricultural sectors in Africa that was created during the Western colonial period, thereby preventing African countries from becoming mere markets for Western industrial products. China has the experience, technology, and funds to help Africa achieve this goal.
