Pueblo to receive federal funding for western part of city

PUEBLO — As West Pueblo grows, city officials want to build more services to make it easier for residents to get around town.

The city is set to receive more than $16 million from the federal government. The money will go to:

  • extension of Sun Mountain Boulevard from 24th Street to 31st Street
  • improving or adding 70 bus stops
  • designing a road that will give people easier access to the city center from the west

If the Pueblo City Council approves the funding request, work on these projects should begin in the middle of next year.
