6th Circuit Urges Supreme Court to Review Campaign Coordination Spending Limits

The full U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit on Thursday rejected a First Amendment challenge to coordinated campaign spending limits, but several justices independently urged the Supreme Court to reconsider the precedent that gave the green light to the restrictions.

In a series of split decisions, several justices also argued over whether the Supreme Court’s test of history and tradition for firearms laws should apply to free speech cases.
