Packers quarterback appears to have injured lower leg against Eagles – NBC New York

Jordan Love suffered an apparent lower leg injury in Brazil on Friday night.

On the penultimate play of the game, the Green Bay Packers star tried to escape a throw but ultimately had to turn around and hand the ball to Josh Jacobs.

Love saw his left leg caught in a tackle by Philadelphia Eagles defensive lineman Jalen Carter. Love fell in pain and had to be carried to the sideline where he continued treatment.

After the game, head coach Matt LaFleur said he had no information about the 25-year-old quarterback.

Newly acquired backup Malik Willis entered the game for Green Bay on the final play but was tackled as time expired and Green Bay lost 34-29.

Love signed a four-year, $220 million contract with Green Bay this offseason, making him one of the highest-paid quarterbacks in league history.

Selected 26th overall in the 2020 draft, Love helped the Packers finish seventh in the NFC last season in his first full campaign as a starter, showing he has a bright future ahead of him.

Green Bay was projected to finish the season on a higher note after beating the Dallas Cowboys (No. 2) in the first round of the final playoffs and losing in the final seconds to the San Francisco 49ers (No. 1).

This is a developing story…
