There were a ton of innovative products at IFA 2024 in Berlin this year, but one of the standout gear categories for me was all the new travel accessories. If you’re like me, you want to travel as smartly and efficiently as possible (no tangled cables), so I’m always on the lookout for new and useful gadgets to pack in my carry-on.

These six products stood out to me because they were smart, innovative, and, most importantly, space-saving—and they’ve just been unveiled to the public. Let’s check them out.

1. PlugBug from TwelveSouth

Creator of ingenuity Flight — the adapter that lets you use your Bluetooth headphones with an airplane’s headphone jack — has just announced the launch of another smart travel gadget: PluginBugthe first USB-C adapter with built-in Find My Phone support.

I can’t count the number of times I’ve left adapters and chargers plugged into a hotel wall socket, so bringing one that supports location is a real dealbreaker.

The PlugBug comes in either a 50W (with two USB-C ports) or 120W (with four USB-C ports) model, and both support dynamic charging for two or four devices at once. The device itself is sleek and thin, and sits close to the wall when plugged in for maximum accessibility. All in all, this is one of those devices that makes so much sense you wonder why it’s not already available.

The PlugBug device is available for pre-order now, with orders shipping in mid-September.

2. Satechi Vegan Leather Passport Case with Find My

If you still carry around your lost passport, you may want to consider securing it. Satechi Passport Cover with Find My is brilliant not only because it protects the passport itself, but also because it allows you to track its location.

If you go missing without your passport, Find My will immediately notify you of its location. It can also save you the time and money of replacing it if it gets lost. This is something you definitely don’t want to lose.

Also: I had the opportunity to test Lenovo’s auto-rotating laptop in person at IFA 2024, and I have to admit it’s an incredible spectacle

The vegan leather case is high-quality and sturdy. It supports wireless charging via Qi, Qi2, or MagSafe chargers to keep the location tracker active. At $60, it’s certainly not cheap, but it’s a solid device if you tend to misplace things.

3. Anker MagGo 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Pad

Anker MagGo 3 in 1 is a small foldable device that gained a lot of attention at IFA for its portable format and usefulness for traveling with Apple devices. When folded, it is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, and magnets keep it securely closed. But when unfolded, it becomes a 3-in-1 wireless charging station with Qi2 support for three devices at once.

With a dedicated charging port for the Apple Watch and the ability to charge an iPhone 15 Pro from 0 to 20% in 15 minutes, this is one of those devices that will easily get you through an overnight hotel loadout with just one charging point.

The only downside to this device is its relatively high price of $90. Yes, it’s an innovative and convenient design, but the asking price may scare off some potential buyers.

It’s currently available in four colors, all of which are up for pre-order. Anker says the black units will ship after September 15, and the white ones after September 20, 2024. The pink and blue units will be available later this year.

4. Beyerdynamic Amiron 300 in-ear headphones

Beyerdynamic makes a bunch of high-fidelity audio products, and these are some of our favorites we’ve tested this year, from solid in-ear headphones to bone conduction headphones. This week at IFA, the company announced not one but three new products, including a new pair of in-ear headphones that are great for traveling.

Amiron 300 they feature active noise cancellation and up to 38 hours of battery life and up to 10 hours of all-day playback, which, if true, is longer than the Apple AirPods Pro 2, Sony XM5, and Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro 3. This is a pair of earbuds that will last you an entire flight.

The Amiron 300s feature Bluetooth 5.3 with multipoint, 10mm dynamic drivers, and Qi-compatible wireless charging. The headphones themselves also have a streamlined, flat design that doesn’t stick out, which is great for sleeping on a plane. They currently cost $279 and will be available in October in black and white.

5. Soundcore Space One Pro Headphones

If in-ear headphones aren’t what you’re looking for, luckily Soundcore has just released a pair of foldable on-ear headphones that are great for travel. SpaceOnePro they’re portable enough to fit into any stuffed bag and light enough to go unnoticed. In addition to their form, they have pretty impressive fast charging, with Soundcore claiming that just five minutes of charging will give you 8 hours of battery life. Not bad for a long flight.

They have active noise cancellation and are very lightweight to wear, making them a good choice for those of us who like to sleep with our headphones on to block out noise. In my hands-on test at IFA, they also sounded great, with an overall balanced soundstage.

This Space One Pro is now available for $200and for a limited time, it also includes a free travel bag (regularly priced at $35).

I would say that this is a product that actually makes good use of the included case, as it completes the set of headphones and makes them a great choice for travel.

6. Belkin BoostCharge Pro

Finally, having a reliable power bank for your laptop is an absolute must when traveling, and Belkin BoostCharge Pro Charging is a beast when it comes to reliable power supply.

The BoostCharge Pro, which was unveiled at IFA, has a 20K battery capacity and can charge up to three devices at once. However, the 65W is only available using one port. I personally appreciate the fact that it has two USB-C ports and one USB-A, as it opens up the number of different cables you can use, since you don’t always have a normal amount of gear with you when you travel.

Also: Apple fans will love Belkin’s new multi-functional foldable travel chargers

The device is extremely light and compact for the amount of juice it contains, and the display showing the amount of available power is easy to read and practical. This available for just $90.
