Amy Adams as a mother who becomes a dog

Marielle Heller’s new horror comedy hits theaters on December 6th

It used to be like that be the girl on TikTok who kept a running list of all the weird changes a human body can go through during and after pregnancy. Every time someone posted about their latest science-defying transformation, the comments section filled with the questions, “Where’s the girl with the list?” Her services are needed once again, as Searchlight Pictures has released the first trailer for the film Night female doga movie in which motherhood turns Amy Adams into a real dog.

The studio’s description of the film is mild: “A woman (Amy Adams) puts her career on hold to become a stay-at-home mom, but her new home life soon takes a surreal turn.” The woman is never named, only referred to as Mother, and puts her life as an artist on hold to raise her son. Instead of arranging colors on canvas, she slithers through the mess of finger paint and spaghetti her turbulent toddler has left behind. When her husband quips, “I’d kill to be home with him every day,” the lack of light in her eyes somehow becomes all the more emptier.

Then comes a “surreal twist”—in which Adams’ character begins to grow fur, attract dogs, and succumb to primal urges that cause her to forgo using any kind of cutlery and instead simply shove her face into plates of food. “I could crack a walnut with my vagina,” she tells a stunned woman in her trailer, before barking in her face and gorging herself on a burger. As she races through the streets on all fours, tail wagging behind her, she declares, “I am a woman. I am an animal. I am Nightbitch.”
