Cade Klubnik and Bryant Wesco combine for a beautiful 76-yard touchdown run against App State

Cade Klubnik has had an up-and-down history since becoming Clemson’s quarterback last season.

In the Week 1 opener loss to Georgia, the young quarterback struggled mightily, finishing the loss to the Bulldogs with just 142 passing yards, no touchdowns, and one interception.

Since a Week 1 loss to open the 2024 college football season, Clemson has been under intense scrutiny, so it was critical for Klubnik to bounce back from Saturday night’s home loss to Appalachian State.

The Tigers quarterback wasted no time on Saturday night.

Appalachian State got pressure on third down and 10 yards with two minutes left in the game, but the Clemson offensive line held, and Klubnik stepped up and connected with Bryant Wesco for a perfect 76-yard touchdown pass.

In the first quarter of the game against App State, Klubnik completed 11 of 11 passes for 233 yards and three touchdowns.

If Klubnik can keep this form going and maintain his streak until the end of the season, Clemson will have a chance to save its season and advance to the College Football Playoff.

Wesco is a true freshman who was ranked in the top 50 of the 2024 class and is expected to play a big role in Clemson’s offense this season.
