News from Bihar: In a sweeping administrative shake-up, the Bihar government on Saturday (September 7) transferred 50 IAS officers, including over a dozen district magistrates. As per a notification from the General Administration Department (GAD), Bhojpur Collector Raj Kumar, a 2010 batch IAS officer, has been posted as Managing Director of Bihar State Milk Co-Operative Federation Ltd (COMFED). Collector Sheohar Pankaj Kumar, another 2010 batch officer, has been reassigned as Director of Primary Education.

Additionally, Nayyar Iqbal, who was previously serving as Director of the Department of Mines and Geology, has been appointed as Special Secretary, Department of Food and Consumer Protection.

Rakesh Kumar, District Collector of Lakhisarai, has been appointed as Director of Consolidation. In his place, Mithilesh Mishra, who was earlier Director of Consolidation, has been appointed as District Magistrate of Lakhisarai.

Sunil Kumar Yadav has been posted as Additional Secretary, Manpower Department, while Yogendra Singh has been posted as Director, Secondary Education and will also hold the post of Additional Director, Midday Meal Scheme.

Anand Sharma and Himanshu Kumar Rai have been appointed as Directors in the Panchayati Raj Department. Dr. Jitendra Gupta has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Bihar State Planning Board.

Dr. Vidya Nand Singh has been posted as Director, Statistics Department and Uditha Singh has taken over as District Magistrate, Rohtas. Roshan Kushwaha has been posted as District Magistrate, Samastipur.

Sanjay Kumar has been appointed as Additional Secretary, GAD. Kumar Mangalam has taken over as Commissioner of Municipal Corporation, Purnea, and Atul Kumar Verma has been appointed as Administrator, Bihar Road Transport Department.

J Priyadarshani has been transferred as Director, Land Reform Department. Apart from them, 30 other IAS officers have been transferred to various posts across the state.

A government spokesman said the decision is part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to increase administrative efficiency.
