Hanmanthu Purushotham appointed as Founding Director of Global Medtech University, Visakhapatnam

Hanumanthu Purushotham, eminent scientist and former CEO of National Research Development Corporation Corporation (NRDC) and Professor at DPIIT-IPR Department of Andhra University (AU), has been appointed as the Founding Director of Global MedTech University, which is being set up at the initiative of Andhra Medical Technology Zone (AMTZ) in Visakhapatnam.

Prof. Purushotham has 40 years of experience in research, education, innovation, entrepreneurship, incubation, startup promotion, consulting and industry-academia collaboration. He hails from Bendi village in Vajrapukothur mandal of Srikakalam district.

He was relieved of his duties as DPIIT-IPR Chair Professor at Andhra University on Friday (September 6, 2024). Andhra University Vice-Chancellor G. Sashi Bhushana Rao and Registrar Dhananjaya Rao congratulated Prof. Purushotham and appreciated his contribution to the university. They said Prof. Purushotham left an indelible mark in creating the IPR culture at Andhra University.

Prof. Dhananjaya Rao, Registrar, AU, has been appointed as the in-charge Chairman of DPIIT-IPR and Y. Rambabu, Research Officer, has been appointed as the in-charge of the IPR Centre to look after the day-to-day technical and administrative duties.
