Elizabethtown loan for service line project goes to Local Government Commission for approval

ELIZABETHTOWN, N.C. (WECT) – On Tuesday, September 10, the Local Government Commission is scheduled to consider approving a loan that Elizabethtown wants to use for a lead service line construction project.

According to the LGC meeting agenda, the city wants to allocate a $111,568 loan for an inventory of lead service lines.

These studies are required by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality to identify the locations of water lines containing lead for replacement.

The full meeting programme is available on the LGC website.
