Tripura CM Saha thanks donors for contributing to flood crisis relief fund

Agartala (Tripura) (India), September 10 (ANI): Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Monday thanked organisations and individuals who donated to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to help the flood-affected people in the state.

In the wake of the floods in the state, individuals and organisations from various sectors, including banks, social organisations and other groups, have come forward to contribute funds to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

In response to an appeal by Prime Minister Dr Manik Saha, financial assistance is being poured into the relief fund on a daily basis, reflecting the strong humanitarian response from the community.

Financial assistance received from several organisations included: Tripura Civil Servants Association: Rs 13,48,089, Forest Department Staff: Rs 10,00,000, Minister Animesh Debbarma: Rs 50,000, Small Savings and Institutional Finance Staff: Rs 51,000, Mohanpur XII Class School: Rs 25,000, Secretariat Employees Welfare Committee: Rs 12,001, Tripura State Cooperative Bank: Rs 15,00,000, Alok Sangha: Rs 20,000, Satadhal Sangha: Rs 50,000.

“Science Teachers’ Association: Rs 76,501, Trypur Madrasa Teachers’ Association: Rs 21,000, Senior Citizens’ Forum: Rs 10,501, Pran Employees: Rs 1,00,000, Trypur Dermatologists’ Association: Rs 36,000, Directorate of Employment Services and Human Resources Planning Employees: Rs 1,15,000, St. Paul’s School: Rs 50,100, Offset Press Owners’ Association: Rs 10,000, South Carolina Social Welfare Employees: Rs 50,000,” according to the data from the Prime Minister’s office.

“Indian Academy of Pediatrics: Rs.74,000, Hotel Polo Towers: Rs.5,00,000, Amin Miah: Rs.5,000, Najya Mullyer Dokan Parichalak Samity, Mohanpur: Rs.10,000, Tripura Agri Alumni Association: Rs.1,51,000, TSECL ltd, Engineers: Rs 1,00,000, Tripura Rajya Mahakaran Karmachari Sangh: Rs 15,000, Young Mizo Association: Rs 20,000, Pranajit Banik: Rs 10,000, Gulmohar House: Rs 30,000, Udhyami Mohila Dhal, Udaipur: Rs 5,000, Rakhal Bhattacharjee : 1 rupees, 000”, according to the Marketing Director.

According to a press release from the State Department of Humanitarian Relief, Reconstruction and Disaster Management, as a result of continuous rainfall and unprecedented flooding since August 19, 31 people have lost their lives and more than 72,000 people have been displaced.

According to a government statement, the district administration has set up a total of 492 relief camps, providing shelter to people displaced by the floods. Clothes have also been distributed to around 300 needy people in Amarpur and Karbook sub-divisions. (ANI)
