Everything in R6 Siege Y9S3 – New Operator, Balance Updates, Siege Cup

Rainbow Six Siege Operation Twin Shells is coming. Here’s everything you need to know to prepare for the new season of R6 Siege.

Rainbow Six Siege Year 9 Season 3 will be available on September 10, 2024. It will introduce a new operator, as well as a new competitive play style and training improvements. Here are the most significant changes to Operation Twin Shells.

Skopos is a seasoned operator who is no newcomer to battle, but she brings a never-before-seen “technological marvel” to the fight. She will have V10-Pantheon Shells, remote-controlled projectiles she can switch between that have both offensive and defensive support.

Skopos is a Defender who focuses on strategy and engineering. She hails from Cyprus, her former teammate is Deimos, a deadly Operator from Year 9 Season 1. Her primary weapon is the OCX-33, and her secondary weapon is the P229. Her gadgets are the Impact Grenade and Proximity Alarm. She has 2 out of 3 Health and Speed.

Your goal as Skopos is to gather data for your team while switching between her Pantheon Shells. Players are already fearing her abilities and urging others to start playing her, as she seems quite strong.

As part of Operation Twin Shells, several Operators will see their prices reduced. Ram will now cost 20,000 Renown (or 480 R6 Credits), Grim will drop to 15,000 Renown (360 R6 Credits), and Wasp will cost just 10,000 Renown (240 R6 Credits).

Operation Twin Shells will introduce competitive players to the Siege Cup, the “most competitive playlist” in the game, where teams of five will attempt to climb the competitive ladder based on their skills and performance.

Siege Cup and Ranked players can earn Competitive Packs, which have exclusive items each season. Competitive Coins can be used to exchange Competitive Packs.

Two custom games

In addition to the Siege Cup, this season’s playlist also includes two custom game settings focused on 1v1 matches. These include Shot Matches with six rounds (first to four wins) and role swapping in each round, and Long Matches with 14 rounds (first to eight wins).

With the arrival of Skopos, the developers are also looking at other operators in the roster to make sure they are all balanced for Twin Shells. Here are the changes to operator balance:

Other balance changes include the Poximity Alarm no longer awarding points upon triggering, and the Claymore now exploding instantly with no delay.

Skopos R6 Siege

Versus AI has been updated. Players can now defend bomb sites from AI attackers, meaning the full match experience is now possible in both Beginner and Advanced modes. AI attackers can use drones, rappel, use gadgets, breach walls, and place defusers.

The Attack team consists of five operators:

There are 16 operators on the Defender team, including Skopos.
