Police came for boy from Kent

A 12-year-old boy selling lemonade in Kent had his earnings stolen, prompting a massive outpouring of support from officers.

On Saturday, the 12-year-old set up his lemonade stand in Kent hoping to make some money.

According to Kent police, after a few hours, the boy made $50 from the sale, which he put into an empty Folgers coffee carton.

Shortly afterwards, two men wearing balaclavas jumped out of the car and robbed it.

Police said the suspect searched the boy, turned his pockets inside out and took a can of money.

Kent Police believe the suspects were driving a stolen vehicle.

On Sunday, Officer Burns of the Kent Police Department helped the victim set up a new lemonade stand in a different location, while officers from Kent and Renton responded to provide support to the 12-year-old.

“As officers, we have the opportunity to help people in such a rich and rewarding way. That’s a big part of what makes this job worth it,” Kent police wrote in a Facebook post. “Suspects, you will not escape. We will find out who you are and you will be arrested.”
