Apple Unveils Latest iPhone 16, AirPods, and Apple Watch Series

At its September 9 event, Apple announced new Apple Watch Series 10, Apple Watch Ultra 2, AirPods Series, and iPhone 16 Series models, all with carbon neutrality in mind. Despite the latest iPhone models featuring Apple Intelligence technology, the AI features won’t fully launch until the first quarter of 2025.

While pre-orders for the iPhone 16 will begin on September 13, pre-orders for all other newly announced products are already open. All products are set to officially release on September 20.

Quotation

The new Apple Watch Series 10 is priced at $399, while the rugged Apple Watch Ultra 2 starts at $799. Both models offer a range of new features and improvements, including improved health tracking and performance.

The fourth-generation AirPods are available for $129, with the active noise-cancelling version costing $179. The AirPods Max price remains at $549.

The highly anticipated iPhone 16 series includes four models: iPhone 16 starting at $799, iPhone 16 Plus starting at $899, iPhone 16 Pro starting at $999, and iPhone 16 Pro Max starting at $1,199.

Apple Intelligence

Apple’s Craig Federighi, senior vice president of software engineering, announced that Apple Intelligence will be offered as a free software update, with an initial set of features set to enter beta next month. More features will be coming in the following months. The update will initially support U.S. English in most regions around the world, with localized English versions for Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, and the U.K. slated for December. Apple Intelligence is also planned to expand to additional languages, including Chinese, French, Japanese, and Spanish, with those updates set to be released next year. Federighi emphasized that this launch is just the beginning, with ongoing efforts to bring more personal intelligence to the apps and experiences you use every day.

What the analysts said

Bloomberg Interview published a note stating that the design changes for the iPhone 16 do not seem compelling enough to trigger a major refresh cycle, especially given the gradual release of Apple Intelligence features scheduled for the first quarter of 2025. Nevertheless, it is still predicted to see a 5% increase in unit shipments in fiscal 2025 compared to 2024. Meanwhile, a thinner Apple Watch with a larger screen could help slow the product’s sales decline.
