This marks the first-ever co-production between Hollywood and the U.S. Army Chaplain Corps, Fighting SpiritThe story begins when the remains of POW and Army combat chaplain Emil Kapaun are identified after 70 years, and much of our nation is captivated by their journey home. When a young former chaplain unexpectedly sets out on his own journey to greet them, he is inspired by the untold stories of the 419 American military chaplains who gave their lives for this unique calling. When the paths of these combat chaplains from different eras finally collide, we are reminded how the deep weight of history and the immense power of love can converge to bring life-changing healing.

A Catholic priest and U.S. Army chaplain, Kapaun continued to minister to soldiers while a prisoner of war during the Korean War, offering hope and comfort despite his own suffering. He died in a POW camp in 1951 and was posthumously awarded the U.S. Armed Forces Medal of Honor.
