Apple loses fight to pay €13 billion in EU taxes to Ireland

BRUSSELS (Reuters) – Europe’s top court on Tuesday upheld a 2.42 billion euro fine imposed seven years ago by the European Union on Alphabet subsidiary Google for using its own price comparison service to gain an unfair advantage over smaller European rivals.

The fine is one of three imposed by the European Commission on Google over the past decade for antitrust violations that have cost the company a total of €8.25 billion over the past decade.
