Antora Energy Named a Best Workplace for Innovators by Fast Company

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Sept. 10, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Fast Company today announced its sixth annual Best Workplaces for Innovators list, honoring organizations and companies that demonstrate an inspiring commitment to encouraging and advancing innovation at all levels. Antora Energy was named a Best Workplace for Innovators in the Energy category for its culture that puts team and mission first and its pioneering work to eliminate industrial emissions.

Since its founding, Antora has focused on a single challenge: how to transform wind and solar power—the cheapest sources of new electricity on Earth—into the consistently available heat and power that industry needs. After years of groundbreaking research and full-scale field implementation, Antora has introduced a modular, factory-built thermal battery that is rapidly decarbonizing industrial facilities in the United States and around the world.

Antora uses renewable electricity to heat blocks of solid coal—a cheap, abundant, and stable storage medium—to very hot temperatures in an insulated thermal battery module. The stored heat is then reliably delivered at the scale and temperatures required by large industrial operations, or it can be directly converted to electricity using Antora’s heat-to-power technology. By delivering zero-emission energy to factories with American-made batteries, Antora will have a significant impact on decarbonizing industry while creating and supporting U.S. jobs, boosting the U.S. manufacturing sector, and strengthening domestic supply chains.

The 2024 Best Workplaces for Innovators list includes companies from a variety of industries, including energy, biotech, consumer packaged goods, healthcare and more. To earn the Best Workplaces for Innovators distinction, Fast Company editors evaluated each company’s projects, investments, company-wide programs and workplace culture, and conducted additional research to generate a score for each company. A separate panel of judges then reviewed the top 125 companies.

“Antora exists to electrify industry, and we’re honored to be recognized by Fast Company for our work to combat the largest source of global emissions,” said Andrew Ponec, co-founder and CEO of Antora Energy. “We believe in creating an environment where we can take on the biggest challenges and make the biggest impact. I’m incredibly proud of the Antora team for creating a workplace where we can build with joy, laughter, and humility.”

The Fall 2024 issue of Fast Company magazine on Best Workplaces for Innovators is available online now, and the print edition hits newsstands September 17, 2024.
