iOS 18 lets iPhone users pause video recordings

The feature will finally allow iPhones to film multiple shots in a single video, instead of the current process that requires users to take separate recordings that need to be edited together. The iOS 18 update added a pause button to the Camera app that changes to a record button when users have actively paused video recording. Users can also switch between camera lenses while recording is paused if they want to adjust the zoom or focus.

The pausing capability was added to the iOS 18 Release Candidate beta, which Apple made available to developers on Monday following the iPhone 16’s “It’s Glowtime” event.
