Pioneering Sustainable Innovation in the Global Food Industry

DUBAI – September 10, 2024: Gulfood Green, which will launch in September, aims to become the definitive platform for global leaders in the food industry to drive sustainable innovation. The event will bring together key players from across the food ecosystem to explore cutting-edge technologies, regulatory changes and transformative practices that are shaping the future of food. The overarching goal is to achieve sustainability in all its dimensions: from farmers, to supply chains, food production, better nutrition, to Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies such as AI, blockchain and smart farming.

Gulfood Green will be held at Dubai World Trade Centre from 24 to 26 September, where leading global companies, investors, entrepreneurs and industry experts will engage in important discussions and showcase innovations that will drive the future of sustainable food systems.

In its first edition, Gulfood Green has already secured the support of stakeholders driving sustainable development in the global F&B industry, including Switch, Intertek, Silal and JAFZA. Through a strategic partnership with Gulfood Green, visitors will have access to the latest thinking from KPMG, which will publish a white paper on “From Farm to Finance: Unlocking Investment in Nature-Positive Agriculture” on the first day of Gulfood Green.

The event will bring together over 500 exhibitors from 50 countries including Thryve, Pure Harvest, Fresh Fruits Company, Yalla Yum, Al Bakrawe, Nice Tech, Banex, Barakat, Armela Farms and 132 startups including Livestock Labs, Niyog, Farm to Plate, Carob Way, FAZLA and Alphacath to share new and innovative concepts and products, connect and nurture cross-border trade relationships. Valuable insights and content will be available to visitors at the Food for Future Summit, which promises to be a groundbreaking gathering of global experts in sustainable food systems and innovation. The Green Shoots Startup Pitch Competition, which aims to recognize and support innovative startups in the sustainable food and agriculture sector and is supported by the UAE Ministry of Economy, will give startups the chance to showcase their talents to a global audience of venture capitalists, potential customers, and industry leaders. In addition to invaluable exposure, access to networking and mentoring from investors, startups will also have the chance to win a cash prize of $50,000 to support their growth and development. The pitching will take place alongside three days of panel sessions and workshops that will provide further learning opportunities. The exhibition will also feature 132 startups from the food and agritech industries, and startups will also have the opportunity to network at a high level with investors through an investor lounge and a carefully curated event program.

The first day of Gulfood Green will see the presentation of the Gulfood Green Terra Awards, which will recognise visionary companies and individuals who are pushing the boundaries of sustainability across the food and beverage value chain. The awards will be presented in ten categories, including: Green Food Innovation, Agricultural Technology, Sustainability Pioneer, Sustainable Company of the Year and more.

Gulfood Green is held in conjunction with ISM Middle East, the region’s largest trade fair for confectionery and snacks, and Private Label Middle East, which brings together global food suppliers, private labels and contract manufacturers from over 40 countries at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 24-26 September.
