Changes in state law allow Eagle Park to sell its liquor at Hamilton St. tasting room

When Wisconsin’s alcohol laws changed last December at the hands of Gov. Tony Evers, many wineries, breweries and distilleries began changing their offerings.

Because one of those rule changes allowed breweries to sell wine and spirits — instead of just beer and other Wisconsin craft beers — Eagle Park Brewing and Distilling Company can now sell the spirits it produces at its Muskego distillery at its Hamilton Street distillery in Milwaukee.

Eagle Park, which opened in 2017 and soon moved to a former garage at 823 E. Hamilton St. near Brady Street, opened its Muskego brewery and distillery in 2020.

However, his spirits could not legally be sold at the Hamilton Street bar because they were not made there. Until the law changed.

Now, Eagle Park will sell its spirits — vodka, whiskey, gin and more — at its home on Brady Street, alongside craft beer. There will also be a selection of wines and a seasonally changing cocktail menu featuring Eagle Park spirits.

EP spirits will also be available for purchase in bottles to take home.

“We are proud of our comprehensive spirits program and how this part of the Eagle Park business has grown over the years,” said Jake Schinker, co-owner of Eagle Park Brewing.

“With the new state regulations, we are excited to welcome spirits lovers to the Hamilton Taproom. We love the communal experience at our Taproom, so whether it’s a craft beer, a cocktail or a bite to eat, we want people to come and enjoy all that Eagle Park has to offer.”
