Top deals of the day on Amazon: Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+, Fire HD 10 Kids Pro, AirPods Max, Shark SmoothStyle, Galaxy Watch 6 Classic

Amazon is definitely on the market this week, folks. Between Apple’s “Glowtime” event slashing prices on older gadgets, Amazon slashing prices on its own gadgets just for the sake of it, and Samsung just trying to keep up, we had some epic deals on September 10th.

Here are our top picks for the best Amazon deals of the day. If none of these are in your area, check out yesterday’s picks that are still live.

Our top choice

Samsung’s latest and greatest tablet just got its biggest discount yet. Starting September 10, the 256GB WiFi Galaxy Tab S9+ is on sale for just $699.99, down from $999.99. That’s a 30% savings and its lowest price ever. That’s no surprise, though, since rumors are circulating that a new S10 series is coming next month. The S9 series debuted last August and is still an impressive buy. It features Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, a new 12.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, and IP68 water and dust resistance (a first for the Galaxy Tab S). And our friends at PCMag (which is owned by Mashable publisher Ziff Davis) called it “a great alternative to the iPad Pro, especially for Windows users.”

Designed for kids ages 6 to 12, the Amazon Fire HD 10 Kids Pro is our favorite kids’ tablet. It features a 10.1-inch 1080p Full HD display, 3GB of RAM, a lighter design, up to 13 hours of battery life, and is 25 percent faster than the previous generation. And of course, like other Amazon kids’ tablets, its durable body (with a built-in kickstand) can withstand all kinds of adventures and accidents. Your purchase also unlocks a free year of Amazon Kids+, which offers access to over 20,000 books, games, and educational apps. Save 26% through September 10 and get the tablet on sale for just $139.99.

The age-old story: Apple announces a new product, and an old one goes on sale. Yesterday, during the brand’s “Glowtime” event, it announced a new version of the AirPods Max (it swapped the Lightning port for a USB-C port). As a result, the old headphones are back down to just $399 on Amazon. While they’re definitely overpriced for everyday use, Mashable senior editor Stan Schroeder says they “sound amazing, look good, and play well with Apple gadgets.” That 27% discount makes us more likely to buy a pair — although that price only applies to the pink version starting September 10.

The Galaxy Unpacked event in July introduced the Galaxy Watch 7, which is good news for anyone looking for a Galaxy Watch 6. The 47mm Galaxy Watch 6 Classic is now down to a record-low price of $297.68 on Amazon as of September 10. That’s a 31% savings. The Classic model still offers the same feature set as the Watch 6, including a detailed breakdown of sleep habits, sleep coaching, personalized heart rate zones, irregular heart rate notifications, and a 20 percent larger display. What sets it apart is a “luxe design that brings back the beloved rotating bezel,” as our friends at PCMag (which is owned by Mashable publisher Ziff Davis) noted in their review.

The Shark SmoothStyle is basically a sleeker version of the Revlon One-Step, which works like a round hot-air brush that can dry and style your hair in one go. Unlike the One-Step, however, it offers special “Wet Hair” and “Dry Hair” modes to style your hair without frying it. Plus, the ceramic plates provide extra protection for your precious strands. It usually costs $100, but starting September 10, you can get the SmoothStyle and a storage bag (for a total value of $119.99) for just $79.99.
